Wimmera Kart Racing Club
DPE Victorian Country Series Race Report

The Wimmera Kart Racing Club has hosted Round 4 of the DPE Kart Superstore Victorian Country Series at it’s Horsham based circuit over the weekend.

146 competitors were treated to an immaculately presented facility, as they ran on the converted layout for the second consecutive year.

Conditions were good for qualifying and racing on Saturday, before damp conditions slowed the early proceedings on Sunday. Once the track dried there was some fantastic racing, which was also littered with some amazing individual performances.

DPE Victorian Country Series Race Report

It was a sunny Sunday at Round 4 of the 2022 Victorian Country Series in Horsham. The DPE Kart Superstore Victorian Country Series has been run and won on the newly refurbished Wimmera Kart Racing Club circuit in Horsham.

176 Entries reaped the rewards of the club’s labour, taking in the new layout and also the super smooth track surface. It was obvious to all that an enormous body of work had been undertaken.

The Victorian Country Series

On August the 13th & 14th 2022, the Wimmera Kart Racing Club hosted Round 4 of the DPE Victorian Country Series. It was a very special event on our new track and new lap records were set! 174 Drivers, their family & friends took part in this celebration to welcome our new upgraded circuit.

Many great karter's competed at our Horsham circuit such as.…. Jamie Whincup, Cameron Waters, Nick Percat, Scott Pye, Todd Hazzlewood, Scott Mclaughlin, and Daniel Ricciardo to name just a few, and some of them have done work experience at Remo Racing right here in Horsham and took part in chassis development on this very track with the iconic brand Monaco GP Karts from its home town of Horsham.

The Victorian Country Series is a 6 round series with huge prize pools with as much as $50,000 worth of prizes & random draws up for grabs, and is also one of Australia's largest series.

Its our clubs only open event of the year where over 200 karters from as far as South Australia to Melbourne compete here annually.

The Series commenced in the early 1990’s as a way for country drivers to regularly race in a competitive environment, without having to travel to the major metropolitan tracks.

The Victorian Country Series has evolved to a point now that the Metropolitan drivers travel to the 6 round events for the tough competition.

Whats unique about our circuit is that its one of the highest speed circuits in the VCS events calendar. Our circuit is physically demanding with an intense combination of high speeds, no rest... its full-on action!

Our circuit provides drivers with immense mental and physical challenges and sure to experience some great racing at Horsham's local kart track at Dooen.

We are located at 650 Henty Highway Dooen, which is 300km northwest of Melbourne and 435km from Adelaide and situated within 2-3 hours of other Victorian clubs.
